First Day on Long Island

Today was our first full day on Long Island.  We are staying with my mother's cousin and her family.  The houses are pretty cool and they are rich in architectural features.  This morning my grandparents came over and we all walked to a real New York diner for breakfast.  On the way my dad and I were commenting on all of the different houses.  Babylon's latitude is 40.69 degrees and -73.32 degrees longitude.

One of the houses in Babylon, New York.

Some of my relatives waiting for our table at the diner.  I had pancakes and they were very good.

Later that day, a bunch of us went to an aeronautical museum.  It is amazing how much activity took place on Long Island in the early days of flight.  There were a lot of companies that were started here and were important to the development of flight in the United States.  My favorite part was a flight simulator where you had to land a World War II fighter plane on an aircraft carrier.  I crashed a lot but landed safely on my fourth try.

Here I am at the Museum sitting in a small helicopter.

A model showing how the early airplanes were made.  They used a lot of wood and metal cables in these early planes.  Before we left the museum we saw an IMAX movie which turned out to be an info-mercial on the new Boeing 787.  It was ok but my dad got dizzy and my mom and grandma fell asleep.

We had a great italian dinner tonight and right now we are watching the Big East championship game.  Got to go!  Go Cards!!!
